Setting Report Card Defaults
Before a teacher can fill out a report card for any given subject and
student, an administrator must define the default values for the
report card. This creates a template for the teacher to fill in. The
current version of SchoolMation is set up to offer the possibility of
having a separate report card for each subject. Each report card
layout can be configured with its own unique categories and number of
terms, etc. Teachers can view any report card, but can only update
report cards for students in their course.
1. Login as an Administrator
2. Enter the Administrator section
3. Click the "Default Settings" button
4. Select the report card that you wish to set the defaults for in
the subject pop-up menu
5. Click the "Search" button
6. Indicate "how many descriptors you need for this particular report card"
7. Note: descriptors represent categories/items that will be
evaluated on the report card
8. Indicate "how many reporting periods there will be in a year"
9. Click the "Set report Card Defaults" button
10. You will be presented with a template report card layout that
reflects your previous choices.
11. Fill in the text boxes with your choices to finish customizing
the report card
12. Click the "Update Record" button to save your default settings
13. These settings will create the report card template that will be
used by teachers of this course to report on student progress
14. It is suggested that you look at one of the sample report card
default settings in the SchoolMation demonstration to assist you with
this process
